Opening:
1. Review the Three Elements of the Project and the Scoring Rubric

Work Period:
2. Using the packet handed out, finalize the textual evidence that aligns to Jonas's Hero's Journey.

  • Use SB 27-29 for descriptions of Joseph Campbell's "Hero's Journey"
  • Determine the possible "scene" you will illustrate.  Use the panels provided as ROUGH DRAFT sketch areas.
3. Begin writing your explanation of how at least 6 STEPS OF THE HERO'S JOURNEY are present in The Giver.

Closing:
4. Determine each team member's JOB tonight so that you stay on schedule.
Suggested Pace:

  • Final Drawings should be done by the beginning of the period Thursday.
  • Written explanations should be done by beginning of the period Friday.
