MEAL

Main Idea: The author wrote this article to inform the reader about the polar vortex.

Evidence: "The upper level of the polar vortex changes is intensity from time to time."
As we read, a polar vortex is "a circulation of strong upper leve winds that normally surround the artic..."

Analysis: The polar vortex is, therefore, a strong wind storm that brings cold temperatures to places that normally aren't cold.

Link: This is important to us because it helps us for when it happens again.  Now that we know, we can be prepared.
