Opening:
1. Discuss your reflections about your presentation with your group.

2. Come up with a simple goal in your class journal for your next presentation. 

Work Period:
3. In your groups assign each member a quote from Activity 3.2.

4. Read the quote and interpret it.

5. Discuss your interpretations with your group.

6. Answer question 1 in activity 3.9.

7. Read the synopsis of Life Is Beautiful and answer question 2.

8. Discuss the graphic organizer for the film clips.

9. Watch the clips and fill in the graphic organizer.

Closing

HOMEWORK: 
1. Be sure Article of the Week is complete 

2.  Prepare a short essay expressing how the theme “finding light in the darkness” is expressed in the film.
  • Explain how setting, characters, and/or plot are used to develop the theme.
  • Remember M.E.A.L.
