Today I will collect Class Notebooks and Independent Reading Notebooks for those I haven't reviewed yet.
Opening:
1. Handback student writing, drawings, and Independent Reading #6.

3. Preview Reading:
- Small groups
- Reading one piece
- Note the writer's relationship to Ana and textual material that points to heroic traits that the speaker sees in Ana
Work Period:
Create groups of FOUR
4. Read the assigned piece in a small group:
- silently
- shared
- paired
- jigsaw
5. Discuss what you have marked in each piece
6. Transfer notes onto page 51-1 through 51-4.
Closing:
7. Finalize notes (page 51-1 through 51-4) on any of the readings you don't feel satisfied with. Be sure you have two-three sentences at the bottom of each Notetaking Guide.
- Don't forget your commentary explaining why or how Ana is a hero!
