Opening:

1. Review SOAPSTone and its usefulness in understanding non-fiction texts.

2. In small "expert" groups, complete the SOAPSTone graphic organizer.

3. Return to small groups and share key elements of the article, including textual evidence.

Work Period:

4. Using the sites I've provided, look for a common essential trait in the historical heroines you research.
  • Take notes in your Class Journal
  • Provide textual evidence for at least THREE women for the ONE trait.

Closing:

Tomorrow: With a partner, draft a brief fictional narrative about a heroine.  Develop your character so she fits your ideal female heroine and goes through her own Road of Trials.
