Opening:

1. Share your 4 or 6 Square Graphic Organizer.  

2. Revise events or evidence as needed.

3. Finalize drawings or evidence as needed.

NOTE: Page 41 can be used as a "make-up" or "extra-credit" assignment if you have a low-grade.  Write your response on loose-leaf paper and turn it in by Monday.

Work Period:

4. In your journal, respond to the following prompt using a double-bubble thinking map:

  • In what important ways is a female hero similar and different to a male hero?
5. Read the assigned article, and mark the text to understand how Merida, in Brave, fits or doesn't fit your definition of a hero.

Closing:

6. On your Double-Bubble thinking map, provide textual evidence from the article that provide insights in agreement or disagreement with your ideas.
