2. Review the first three questions on page 229.
  • Find the Embedded Assessment on pages 259-264.  Skim the project and the summarize it at the bottom of page 229.
    • What belongs on our Anchor Chart?
 3. Summarize the EA at the bottom of page 229.

Work Period:
4. Consider the title:
Needful Things.  An Allegory of the Holocaust



  • Unfamiliar words (Remember "O Captain, My Captain"
5. What is necessary for a strong oral reading?

6. Notetaking on pages 231
  • When do the animals make sense? 
  • When don't they give answers that make sense?
7. In your class notebook, respond to the writing prompt in a paragraph using textual evidence (text and images).


Closing:
8. Return to the Word Wall for the Class.  Where does Allegory fall on a QHT?

9.  Discuss the Word Connections box, then complete the KWH of the KWHL independently (Homework).
